Patna: Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) is considered as the second largest hospital in Bihar and the state government has always claimed it to be developed as a world-class hospital. But the reality is somewhat different.
The women's ward of NMCH in Patna has now turned into a pond just after the monsoon hit the state. The situation is so worse that fishes can be seen swimming in the water.
The worrisome situation at the hospital is making patients ill, instead of recovering them.
Dr Ravi Ranjan Kumar, president of the Junior Doctor Association, said that the process of draining the rainwater is underway. Though Kumar also accepts that the water-logging in the hospital is dangerous for the patients admitted in the hospital.
Ram Nath Chaudhary, the former councillor of the area has accused the municipal corporation of this daunting situation of the hospital.
