Nawada: People of Dhania Gorihia from Kauakole region have demanded that a road should be built in their village by the candidate who wins from their constituency in the Bihar Elections 2020.
This comes in the backdrop when people were left with no other option but had to hire a tractor to go the polling booths to cast their votes. The villagers went out of their way, collected money and booked a tractor and travelled 35 km to reach the polling station. There are no proper roads in the village and the people face a lot of connectivity issues. Voters reached polling booth centre (311) to exercise their franchise.
"In a display of remarkable zeal, the voters of Dania village under Kauakola block first collected donations from people to hire a tractor so that they could reach the voting centre. In the tractor, they travelled a distance of 35 km from their village which is located in a forest area. They reached Pachamba to cast their votes," said a local.
“Initially, our booth was Dania. It was shifted to Pachamba and travelling it is really difficult for us. We have covered a distance of 26 km to reach the polling station. We collected donations and reached here by tractor. We are late and do not know how many of us will be able to vote. We want that whoever wins, he or she should get the road constructed in our area because many times when we have to take the patient to the hospital on our shoulders and he dies while being taken to the hospital.” Valmiki Prasad, a local resident.
However, people were standing in close proximity, without masks and social distancing went for a toss.
