New Delhi: All the left parties and central trade unions except the RSS affiliated Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh called a nationwide strike on Wednesday.
The strike is called by trade unions against what they allege as "anti-people" policies of BJP government.
The declaration for this strike was adopted in September 2019 by unions like INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, LPF, and UTUC.
In the national capital, many students union associated with these groups are protesting, even after the downpour.
The protestors demanded the Centre to change its policies to improve the Indian economy, unemployment, farmers' loan issue and recent protests among the students.
They too warned Modi Government, if it failed to resolve the above issues than the protest might turn into a nationwide revolution.
The whole county in under the protest mode, however in West Bengal it is more aggressive, protestors burnt tyres and restricted the transport facilities.
