Karimganj: Police in Assam have arrested three Nigerian nationals near Assam-Tripura border for entering India illegally through Bangladesh. Karimganj police had also detained other illegal Nigerians who entered Assam this year.
Police arrested the three during a routine search of a transport bus. The detained foreign nationals were identified as Fergimeaneg Mmadubuko (31), Sylvanuss Nwawuru (30) and Ioicin Nwachukwi Nwanokwara (29).
The detained Nigerians were not able to produce valid credentials and were travelling to Guwahati from Dharmanagar in Tripura.
The police also recovered US, Nigerian and Indian currency from them. The youths were planning to travel to Delhi.
