Hubli: A Karnataka based non-profit organisation is providing meals to 1.31 lakh children of 800 schools amid corona crisis, a source said.
Akshaya Patra Foundation encompasses the largest kitchen in Asia. Reportedly, it was built in 2006 by a fund provided by Infosys Foundation. In the ongoing lockdown, 61 vehicles have been arranged to supply meals to different schools.

The food is cooked every day from three to nine in the morning. Thereafter, cleansing of kitchen follows where 450 people work in three shifts. Further, cooking is done through scientific technology in a well-equipped building. The menu incorporates different dishes, in a week, 4 days Anna-sambar, 1 day Pulav-dal, 1 day Upama-Kesari Bath, is served.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the technologies to make the work easy. According to reports, a meal's 60% is borne by government's grant and the remaining costs come from donations.
