Andhra Pradesh doctor receives opposition support over N95 mask chaos
A doctor from the Narsipatnam area hospital who was suspended after he alleged that N95 masks were not being provided to the doctors on COVID-19 duty last month received massive support from the opposition parties of the state.
Hyderabad: A doctor with a government hospital in Andhra Pradesh who allegedly questioned the state government on shortage of PPEs, received support from opposition parties on Wednesday as they blamed the state govt of planning some conspiracy, a source said.
Sudhakar Rao who was suspended on asking why N95 masks were not provided to the doctors on COVID-19 duty last month, was taken under arrest on charges of creating nuisances near the port hospital in Visakhapatnam.
Sudhakar allegedly verbally abused the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in an inebriated state. Further, he was admitted to a mental hospital after doctors at the King George Hospital in Vishakapatnam said he had some mental health issues.

However, sources said a police constable was suspended for manhandling the doctor soon after the video went viral on social media. Further, the doctor's mother has been urging a probe, she said her son's life is under threat. Meanwhile, opposition parties have immensely criticised the stat govt's move, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and party leader N. Lokesh condemned the police behaviour against Sudhakar Rao.
Moreover, on Tuesday, Indian Medical Association wrote a letter to the state government criticising the actions taken by the police.
