New Delhi: With protesting farmers' and government's talks being inconclusive and protests getting intensified, the BJP-led NDA has been facing pressure from its allies to find a quick solution to end the on-going stand-off over the contentious agri-sector laws.
After the old partner Srimoni Akali Dal snapped with the NDA, another ally Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) has threatened to quit the alliance over the laws. RLP Chief Hanuman Beniwal has demanded that three agricultural laws must be scrapped and even wrote to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the same.
Today, independent MLA Sombir Sangwan withdrew his support from the BJP-JJP coalition and even JJP has asked the Central govt to come up with a 'quick and unanimous solution' to resolve the farmers' issues and said that his party would re-think its tie-up with the NDA if the government does not find a solution.
"The Centre should take note of the demands of protesting farmers. A unanimous solution should be implemented quickly to put an end to farmers' troubles. The sooner the solution to the farmers' problem, the better. We have urged for the same from those who are sitting in the government,” JJP founder Ajay Chautala told.
After BJP's long-time ally Akali Dal quit NDA after the three farm bills were presented in the Parliament, its allies have shown signs of unease over govt's staunch defense of the laws.
BJP-JJP are in coalition in Haryana after the 2019 Assembly elections but if JJP quits, trouble will mount for BJP to run the NDA government, say party sources.

According to reports, all the main allies of BJP, be it, Akali Dal, RLP and JJP, heavily depend on the farmers' vote and hence want to secure their vote banks by not going against the farmers.
The stalemate between the farmers and the Central government continued even as the protests entered its seventh day and, rather intensified with the farmers joining from Uttar Pradesh. The government has had rounds of talks with the farmers but the issue remains unsolved.
Many organizations and farmers from several other states have extended their support to the farmers in turn increasing the trouble for the BJP government who failed to convince the farmers for setting up of a committee to redress their grievances. Moreover, many leaders from within the party itself have started mounting pressure on the top brass to roll back the agri-sector laws.
According to party sources, in a meeting called after the Monsoon session of the theParilaiment, most of the leaders from the agricultural background informed the party about the issue and also posed several questions on the agri laws. In response to this, senior and veteran BJP leaders said that it is the responsibility of elected MLAs, MPs to go to their respective constituencies and make people aware of the advantages of the laws.
An all-party meeting with senior BJP leaders may be called soon to discuss the issues. BJP might launch a massive awareness campaign just like it did at the time of implementing CAA to keep its points.
