Allahabad: The order of AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) denying the extension of approval to Integrated Academy of Management and Technology (IAMT) for not submitting occupancy certificate was quashed by Allahabad High Court.

The institution was put under the 'no admission' category and was denied the extension of approval for the academic year 2019-20. The IAMT was distressed by the order given by AICTE on July 30.

The petitioner has earlier informed AICTE that they have applied for building completion certificate and they are waiting for the reply from the authorities. The institution was granted approval for the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19 without the occupancy certificate.

Justice Ajay Bhanot stated that it was an uncertain criteria on which the approval was declined to the petitioner. The court said that the AICTE must alert the institution of the eligibility norms prior to consideration of applications for approval.
