New Delhi: Giriraj Singh, who won the Lok Sabha seat from Bihar's Begusarai in the recently concluded General Elections, will be heading the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.
Singh was included in the list of ministers, announced today, for the new union government. In conversation with media, he expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for handing over the responsibility.
Singh further highlighted the importance of amalgamating agriculture with livestock and design a model to double the income of the farmers.
He also said that the livestock and the dairy were an important sector of our nation and would act as an employment booster.
It may be recalled that Singh was pitted against CPI's Kanhaiya Kumar and RJD's Tanvir Hassan.
