Bengaluru(Karnataka): Farmers on Saturday blocked highways in different parts of Karnataka to express solidarity with protesting farmers against the contentious agriculture laws introduced by the Centre government in New Delhi and demanding the withdrawal of the legislation. The demonstrations took place in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kolar, Koppal, Bagalkote, Tumakuru, Davangere, Hassan, Mangaluru, Haveri, Shivamogga, Chikkaballapura, and other places of the state.
The farmers who arrived from the different parts of Bengaluru are set to block the NH-7 on Saturday, During the cops have tried control them, But when they started to quarrel with the police, They have detained farmer leaders to control them.
Farmers set to block Devanahalli-Airport Road:
The different farmer's organizations gathered in the city are set to block the Devanahalli and International Airport road of Bengaluru for 3 hours. Farmers warned the police department saying, "if you do not allow us to protest, We will lie on the road and continue the protest."
Protest in Bidadi:
The farmers in Bidadi has staged the protest on the National Highway passing through Bidadi. More than two hundred farmers have been involved in this protest and the number will increase by the afternoon, the farmer organization leader said. The police also strictly warned the farmers to do not to stage protests in Bidadi.
Various organization Supports Farmers to stage protest:
Various organizations including Kannada Rakshana Vedike have supported the farmers to stage the protest in different parts of Bengaluru against the central government and its New Bill.
Possibility of Detaining the Agitating farmers:
The Police department has set up a tight security force on every national Highway to control the agitating farmers. According to sources, cops have also planned to detain the farmers, if the situation went out of control.
