New Delhi: Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam took a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saying that he spreads hatred in his own state but going to be a 'star campaigner' in Bihar.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Krishnam said that Adityanath first spread hatred in Uttar Pradesh and now he will spread in Bihar.

While talking on incidents of attacks on saints in different states, Krishnam said that saints were humiliated less even in Aurangzeb's reign than in the BJP's reign.

Giving the example of Uttar Pradesh, Krishnam said that as many as 8 saints have been killed in the last 6 months.

"If the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is a monk or a 'yogi' then saints in the state should not be treated like this," he said taking a pot shot at the CM Yogi Adityanath.

On being asked if Uttar Pradesh should be divided into two states, to this, he said that the Congress party has always been in favour of giving power to small states.

Although, Uttar Pradesh is a huge state and a symbol of Indian culture and civilization. I don't think that dividing the state is going to solve the problems. There is no law and order in the state so it's the government who has to step-up and set things right," he added.
