Masked attackers throw acid on man in Rajasthan

A group of masked attackers threw acid on the son of Surgyan Devi, a sarpanch candidate in Titaria Panchayat. The incident took place at around 12 o'clock Friday night.

Chaksu (Rajasthan): Rajasthan is slowly turning into a crime capital. After the burning alive of a priest in Karauli district, a group of masked miscreants threw acid on the son of Surgyan Devi a sarpanch candidate in Titaria Panchayat.

The incident took place at around 12 o'clock on Friday night.

According to Shivdaspura police officer Indraj Marodia, the attackers have not yet been identified.

According to the information, the accused first beat up the son of the sarpanch candidate and afterwards threw acid on him.

He has received serious burn injuries and is being treated at the SMS hospital.

The police have registered a case at Shivdaspura police station.

Meanwhile, the incident is being linked to elections as voting for the fourth phase of Panchayat Raj elections are being held in Rajasthan.

In a similar incident, seven people received burn injuries in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra after a group of men threw acid on them following a clash.

The incident took place at Sainath Nagar in Bhiwandi city and has created an atmosphere of fear in the area.

The injured have been admitted to the Indira Gandhi Sub-District Hospital for treatment.

Earlier, on September 24, a man allegedly threw acid on his wife and aunt at his residence in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district. The two women got severely injured and were rushed to a local hospital.
