Bagalkot: Three people died while three others were seriously injured in an accident on the National Highway in Kerur town of Badami Taluk in Karnataka.
The deceased were identified as Manandappa kari (17), Pooja Halapethe (22) and Lakshmana Hadimani (32). The victims belong to Kerur, Hubli and Sureban.
The accident occurred when a truck skidded off the road and hit the shops on a roadside footpath, killing three, on the spot. Six people, including a boy, have been sent to the Government Hospital and Bagalkot District Hospital.

The incident took place in front of the Hescom office in the town of Kerur, on the Hubli-Solapur national highway.
Reportedly, the incident was caused due to a brake failure after which the lorry driver lost control. A case has been registered at Kerur police station.
