New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh, who was badly injured in Sunday's mob attack at her campus, accused Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists for being behind the violence and pointed towards a "nexus between the attackers and the internal security personnel within the campus".

"ABVP activists were threatening people openly. There is a clear nexus between the attackers and the internal security personnel within the campus. Despite having security on campus, they stood there as mute spectators. These mobs entered hostels and vandalised them, " said Ghosh after receiving treatment at AIIMS trauma centre.

Narrating her ordeal, Ghosh said, "Me and my companion were surrounded by 30 men. They hit both of us with iron rods on our heads several times. They were carrying hammers. They kept saying that they will beat us and kill us. I collapsed because I was bleeding profusely. I was treated at the AIIMS trauma centre."

Several students and faculty members were assaulted by armed miscreants on Sunday evening.
