Lucknow: Voting begins for 91 constituencies in 20 states and union territories in the 1st phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on Thursday.
In Uttar Pradesh, the first phase of polls was held on eight Parliamentary seats, including Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The polling took place between 7 am to 6 pm with 63.69 per cent voter turnout in UP in 1st phase.

A CRPF jawan fired a shot in the air to control the situation.

- Ruckus started at a polling booth in Baghpat over cross-voting allegations.
- Supporters of Chaudhary Ajit Singh forcefully entered in booth number 88 of Budhana in Muzaffarnagar.
- Poet Kumar Vishwas also reached Amity School polling booth in Ghaziabad's Vasundhara to cast his vote.
