Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh): A police circle inspector of Nandyal has been suspended for his hand in abetting suicide. Primary inquiries revealed that CI was responsible for suicidal death of Abdul Salam of Nandyal along with his family members. Superiors issued orders suspending him. A selfie video taken by Abdul Salam and his family members before committing suicide has gone viral. An inquiry committee has been appointed with two IPS officers to probe the incident.
DGP Gautam Sawang directed APSP Battalions' IG Shankabrata Bagchi and Guntur Additional SP Arif to set up an inquiry committee to investigate Abdul Salam family suicide case. District officials are also investigating along with Allagadda DSP Pothuraju on this case. Kurnool Range DIG Venkatramireddy has ordered that the accused CI Somasekhar Reddy be suspended till the completion of the investigation.

‘I am under pressure in a theft case that I did not commit. We are taking our lives as we cannot bear it," said Abdul Salam in the video. Four members of Abdul Salam's family from Nandyal town in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh committed suicide by lying under a railway track in Panyam Mandal.
When MLA Shilpa Ravichandra Kishore Reddy went to visit their relatives... they showed him the video. In the video clipping, Abdul Salam is heard saying, "I did not commit the theft of Rs. 70,000 in an auto and the theft of gold at a jewellery shop'. Yet, cops are putting pressure on me."
The MLA assured that justice would be done to the family of the deceased. Lawyer Balaji belonged to Nandyal said that... "complaint has been lodged against town CI, Somasekhara Reddy, along with the CCI police and the gold shop owner, with the National Human Rights Commission in Delhi over the incident.
