Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh): A car carrying five people fell into Sakre canal in Azadpur near Orchha town of Madhya Pradesh's Niwari district on Monday.
The accident occurred when the car was trying to avoid collision with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite side.
The incident was captured on a CCTV, the footage of which showed that the driver of the auto which had collided with the car ran away from the spot.
Soon after the car with five occupants plunged into canal, one of the family members got hold of the 3-year-old child and threw him towards the bridge in order to save him. However, the child hit the bridge and again fell into the water.
Immediately, some people standing on the bridge jumped into the water and rescued the child.
All the other occupants of the car were later rescued by the people present at the accident site. They were rushed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
