New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force has reported 41 fresh coronavirus infection cases on Wednesday, taking the total infections in the force to 109.
37 CISF personnel who have tested positive for COVID-19 were deployed for security duties at GRSEL, Kolkata while 4 were deployed at Delhi Metro, CISF said in a statement.
The new COVID-19 cases have taken the number of cases in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to over 800, including 240 in CRPF, 82 in ITBP, 303 in BSF and 18 in SSB.
A 55-year-old Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) rank official posted at the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSEL) security unit in Kolkata had succumbed to the disease on Monday, taking the virus death count in the force to three.
This was the sixth death in the paramilitary forces due to COVID-19 with two casualties in the Border Security Force and one in the Central Reserve Police Force.

Earlier, a CISF ASI posted at the Indian Museum in Kolkata and a head constable rank official posted to guard the Mumbai international airport had died of COVID-19.Conclusion:Among those infected in Delhi, three were deputed at the Delhi airport and 28 at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) while 39 were deployed in Kolkata, 32 in Mumbai, five Ahmedabad, and two in Greater Noida.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF), which has the maximum positive cases among the CAPFs, saw nine fresh cases since Tuesday.
