25% of patients who died in Gujarat due to COVID-19 didn't have comorbidity

Gujarat has reported that 25 per cent of patients who died due to the COVID-19 virus didn't have other diseases or comorbidity. Gujarat has reported the second-highest number of deaths due to Coronavirus taking the toll 103 according to the data released by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat has reported the second-highest number of deaths due to Coronavirus taking the toll 103 according to the data released by Ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday.

Earlier it was reported that many of the deaths are due to the COVID-19 patient had other diseases or Comorbidity but now the data has shown different results new results.

As many as 25 per cents of Coronavirus positive patients who died didn't have any record of comorbidity. However, most of the deceased were over 50 years of age.

Gujarat left Madhya Pradesh behind in the list of more number of deaths due to the virus and placed a rank behind Maharashtra.

As many as 71 people who have died when the total number of positive cases was 95 in Gujarat, were suffering from other diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart and lungs ailments.

Talking on this issues, state’s health secretary Jayanti Ravi said, "more cases of death have come into the light where patients did not have co-morbidity. Those who are above 60 years age must take more precautions. The Coronavirus pandemic also severely affects pregnant women and children below 5 years. People of all these people should avoid going out of their homes and take Ayurvedic hot potion to increase their immunity."

She said that most of the Coronavirus positive cases have been registered from hotspot areas. During 18 and 19 April, as many as 79 positive cases were reported from three residential colonies from the localities which are under curfew. On April 18, 35 persons found Coronavirus positive were from one Chatur Rathod Chawl near Dudhwadi of Behrampura. On April 19, 21 positive cases from Jamalpur’s Mahajan Wanda and 23 positive cases from Valanda Haveli of Gandhi Road were detected.

Most of the deaths were reported from hotspot areas. A total of 2407 Coronavirus cases were registered in Gujarat till the evening of April 23 from which the maximum number of cases were reported in Ahmedabad.
