2 dead, 1 injured in wall collapse in Karnataka

The deceased, identified as Musrikul from West Bengal and Bhimesh from Bagalkot, were engaged at a construction site near Bunts Hostel Junction in Karangalpady part of the Mangalore when a wall built on an adjacent plot collapsed on them at around 1 pm leading to their death.

Mangalore (Karnataka): Two construction workers died and one sustained severe injuries on Friday after a wall collapsed on them at Karnataka's Mangalore.

The deceased, identified as Musrikul from West Bengal and Bhimesh from Bagalkot, were engaged at a construction site near Bunts Hostel Junction in Karangalpady part of the city when the wall built on an adjacent plot collapsed on them at around 1 pm.

Haneefullah, who also hailed from West Bengal, sustained severe injuries in the incident.

Fire and Emergency services personnel rushed to the spot and extracted the two dead bodies apart from rescuing several others trapped under the debris.

Mangaluru South MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Vedavyas Kamath also reached the site to oversee the rescue efforts.
