Ranchi: A beheaded body of a woman in her mid-twenties was found in Jirabar forest area in Jharkhand's capital city Ranchi on Sunday, police said. The police is yet to establish her identity.
The incident has been reported from Ormanjhi police station limits and preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was killed in some other area and her body was brought and abandoned in the woods.
The woman was allegedly raped before the murder as most of her vital organs are also damaged.
Ranchi police officer Naushad Alam said, "We have recovered a body of a beheaded woman. It is suspected that she was murdered somewhere else and her body was left here. We have sent the body for post-mortem and after medical examination, it can be confirmed whether she was raped or not. We are considering all the angles and all the facts to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, we are also ascertaining the identity of the lady. We also pressed dog squad service but till now, we are yet to reach a conclusion."
Police is also considering the missing complaints filed in the past few days to crack the case. The cops are also scanning the active cellphones in the designated area.
