Dehradun: The deadly second wave of Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in the country. Sparking controversy, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has allegedly flouted the COVID-19 protocols and carried out a yoga session to 100 people in his yoga village. The session was telecasted live in a private channel.
Even though usage of mask was said to be pertinent during this dire situation in the show, it turned out to be contradictory as no one seen in the visual wore mask. Ramdev also said there might lockdown in the entire country, but "this is only village in the country with no lockdown". He also claimed that he would not get infected by any disease for the next 100 years.

When the matter was raised to administrative and police officials, they seemed completely oblivious. Haridwar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gopal Singh Chauhan said he is unaware of any gathering in the village.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand government on May 24 announced an extension to the existing COVID curfew till June 1 to prevent further surge of cases.

The decision was taken after the instructions of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat. Uttarakhand government's spokesperson and Cabinet Minister, Subodh Uniyal said that it has been decided to open the market from 8 am to 11 am instead of 7 to 10 am.
In addition, reports surfaced on Baba Ramdev daring the government to arrest him in a viral video, last day. #ArrestRamdev hashtag was trending on Twitter following his statements on allopathy doctors and scientific medicine.
