New Delhi: On the very first day of registration for the third phase of the Covid vaccination, over 1.32 people had applied on the CoWin app.

But on Thursday, Delhi's Health Minister Satyendra Jain had announced that the national capital has run out of vaccines. The Delhi Government had ordered 1.34 crore of vaccine doses from various manufacturers. While the West Bengal Government announced that Vaccination drive for those between 18 to 44 years of age will begin as and when the State receives the vaccine doses. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that the vaccination drive will begin from May 5.

As the Chhattisgarh Government had earlier said that it will provide free vaccine for its people, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that socially and economically weaker sections of the society should be given priority in this vaccination drive. However, the state health minister TS Singh Deo had said that the state doesn't have sufficient vaccines to start the third phase of the vaccination drive.
