Guwahati (Assam): After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday separately met National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and RAW Chief Samanta Goel.
This is the first visit of Sarma to Delhi after taking charge as the Chief Minister of the state. Sarma was on a four-day visit to Delhi and also met, BJP chief JP Nadda, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and a host of other central leadership.
Although nothing was made official regarding the meeting with Doval, Bhalla and Goel, sources in the state home department informed that the meetings with Doval, Bhall and the RAW Chief revolved around the proposed peace talks with the anti-talk faction of Ulfa led by Paresh Baruah also known as Ulfa (Independent).

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma soon after taking charge appealed to the Ulfa faction chief Paresh Baruah to come for talks. Three days after the Chief Minister's appeal, Baruah had announced a three-month-long ceasefire with the Assam government. The Ulfa commander had also unconditionally released the abducted ONGC employee Ritul Saikia.
On day three of this visit to the national capital, Sarma also met three Union ministers including Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union minister for housing and urban affairs and civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri and Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

Sarma during his meeting with Dr Vardhan has reportedly discussed the present COVID19 situation of the state.
The chief minister is believed to have briefed Dr Vardhan about various initiatives being taken by the state government to control the situation.
During his meeting with Hardeep Puri, Sarma discussed issues pertaining to urban development & civil aviation.
