New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday hit out at the government and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat over the objectionable sloganeering against a minority community at Jantar Mantar on Sunday and questioned the people who had said that the DNA of Muslims and Hindus is the same and no one needs to fear. He was speaking during the interaction on 'Political, Social and Economic Future of Indian Muslims' organised by Indian Muslim Intellectuals.

"Reacting on the objectionable sloganeering during a protest march at Jantar Mantar against 'Colonial-era laws', Owaisi said, "If someone is saying like this in Delhi then the government should die in shame. Where are those who were saying that the DNA of Muslims and Hindus is the same?" He also said that if someone slaps on my one side of the face then I will never allow to hit me on the other side of the face. I have also the right to self-defence.

Speaking further, he said that as of now no action has been taken against the culprits showing it is not communalism but fascism. "The fascism is at its peak and we need to understand this. No one can slap anybody, saving life in India is the fundamental right and we need to raise our voice in the political and democratic way," he added.

AIMIM chief also said that he is confident of winning the UP assembly elections and said those supporting the AIMIM should take this thing out of their mind that they can't defeat BJP. "We are part of an alliance in Uttara Pradesh, we are trying our best in the state. If we feel the need to an alliance with other parties in the state then we will that too," he said.

Owaisi also targeted the political parties who blame AIMIM for the polarization of votes and said they should work in alliance with the party if they are really worried about their loss in the elections.
