Andhra Pradesh judge expressed shock and reprimanded the police for falsely charging the students with false rape allegations who were reportedly trying to siege CM's residence.

Amravati: The Mangalagri sessions court judge on Sunday expressed outrage after finding five Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF), who were arrested for allegedly attempting to lay siege to the CM's residence, were falsely accused of rape in the remand report.

Police had arrested five TNSF students, who were reportedly trying to siege the residence of Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, on rape charges.

The judge expressed shock over the remand report and asked the police how they could charge students with such unrelated allegation. Following this, police have revised the remand report and submitted a fresh one with relevant sections. The five accused were sent to Thadepalli police station on the fresh remand report.

Telugu Desam Party has hit out at the Andhra police for falsely charging students with rape cases and demanded that students should be released from the police custody.

According to reports, students were arrested near Telugu thalli statue a few days back. Despite careful precautionary measures taken by the police, the five student leaders were able to travel half a kilometre to the CM's residence.
