Port Blair: Admiral D. K. Joshi (Retd), Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to discuss about the inter-island connectivity issues in the Islands. According to an official release, the Lt Governor the talks mainly on the operationalisation of water aerodromes in the Islands.
Joshi, who is also the vice-chairman of Islands Development Agency, urged the union minister for the introduction of additional routes, augmentation of inter-island connectivity with larger capacity helicopters and giving impetus to civil aviation infrastructure in the islands.
Joshi also discussed greenfield airports coming up in the union territory, operationalisation of water aerodrome in Shaheed Dweep, Swarap Dweep, Long Island and Port Blair for sea-plane operations with the minister.
