Bengaluru: The Transport department on Saturday released a Rolls Royce Car, which was once owned by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, after its current owner paid a fine of Rs 5,500 for different violations. The Rolls Royce was among the 10 high-end cars seized by RTO officials for alleged lack of proper documentation in a special raid on August 22.
The Transport department had seized luxury cars plying without paying taxes, lack of proper documentation and insurance. The special raid was led by Commissioner of Police Narendra Holkar.

The car was gifted to the Bollywood star by director and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra in 2007. When the car was put on sale on February 19, 2019, Kolar district KGF-based businessman Babu had bought the car for around Rs 1.3 crore. However, the car still remains in the actor's name.
