Allahabad HC suggests declaring cow as the national animal

The Allahabad High Court has suggested declaring cow as the national animal on Wednesday. The court has said that the cow should not be looked at only from the religious point of view. The court said that eating beef is not a fundamental right of anyone. The right to life cannot be taken away for the sake of meat-eaters.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has suggested declaring the cow as the national animal in view of its Vedic, mythological, cultural importance and social utility. The court said that in India, the cow is considered a 'mother'. It is a matter of faith for the Hindus. Hitting on faith weakens the country, the High Court also suggested that the "taste of tongue" does not have the right to take away life.

The court said that eating beef is not a fundamental right of anyone. The right to life cannot be taken away for the taste of the tongue. Even the old, sick cow is also useful for agriculture. It is not right to allow the killing of the animal. The cow is the backbone of Indian agriculture. It also said that India is the only country in the whole world where people of all sects live. Everyone's worship method may be different, but everyone's thinking is the same. Everyone respects each other's religion. The court said that if the person who killed a cow is released, he will commit the crime again.

The Allahabad High Court was hearing Javed's bail plea. Javed is accused of killing a cow. The court said that cow slaughter is prohibited in 24 out of 29 states. A cow provides food for 410 to 440 people in its lifetime and the beef feeds only 80 people. Describing the efforts made in history to stop cow slaughter, the court said that Maharaja Ranjit Singh had ordered the death penalty for cow slaughter.

Not only this, many Muslim and Hindu kings had banned cow slaughter in history. Cow's faeces and urine are beneficial in incurable diseases. The glory of the cow has also been mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas. India's freedom fighter Mangal Pandey revolted on the issue of cow's fat being put in cartridges. Cow protection has also been emphasized in the constitution.

Making this remark, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Javed, a person accused of cow slaughter. This order has been passed by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav. Government advocate SK Pal and AGA Mithilesh Kumar protested on the application.

Earlier, the petitioner Javed, who is accused of stealing Khilendra Singh's cow along with his companions and killing the cows in a forest. Javed is in jail since 8th March 2021 on this charge. The complainant had identified his cow by looking at the head. The accused fled on the spot leaving the motorcycle behind.
