Another religious leader calls Mahatma Gandhi 'traitor', MP Police register case

Congress had objected to the statement of religious narrator Tarun Morari, who called Father of Nation 'a traitor' during the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at Narsinghpur on Monday. Police registered a case following the complaint.

Madhya Pradesh police has registered a case against religious leader Tarun Murari Bapu for allegedly calling Mahatma Gandhi a traitor, police said on Tuesday.

Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Police have registered a case on Tuesday against religious narrator Tarun Morari Bapu for calling Mahatma Gandhi a 'traitor' while narrating a story of Shrimad Bhagwat on Monday at Veera Lawn on Chhindwara Road.

He had said, "Whoever breaks the nation into pieces, how can he be the Father of the Nation? I oppose them. He is a deshdrohi (traitor)."

Congress had objected to the statement of Tarun Morari and submitted the memorandum to the Superintendent of Police in this matter, demanding registration of a case against Murari Bapu.

Superintendent of Police Narsinghpur, Vipul Srivastava told the media: "We saw the video. Case registered under Section 505 (2) and 153 B. Since there is less than 7 years of punishment in the matter as per CrPC Section 41A, we have sent a notice to Tarun Murari Bapu."

Earlier, during the Dharam Sansad held in Raipur, Sant Kalicharan Maharaj had given a controversial statement about Mahatma Gandhi. He used abusive words against the father of the nation and bowed down to his killer Nathuram Godse thus Chhattisgarh Police arrested Kalicharan Maharaj from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
