Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has won the Gorakhpur Assembly seat with a margin of 1,02,399 votes in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He defeated the BSP and Samajwadi Party contestants with a huge margin.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has created a history of sorts by becoming the first BJP CM of the State to complete a five-year term and retaining power for the second time.
Adityanath was watching the poll outcome from his official residence in Lucknow while his supporters at the Gorakhpur Math and at the party office started celebrating his and the party's victory in the state. A large number of party workers had already gathered at the BJP's party office in Beniganj in Gorakhpur, raising slogans 'Modi-Yogi zindabad' and 'Jai Shri Ram'.
Some of them also burst crackers and took out a march. A lot of people had also gathered at the Hindu Sevashram in Gorakhnath temple.
