Patna (Bihar): Union Minister Pashupati Paras on Monday while interacting with ETV Bharat claimed that there was an acid attack on him in Hajipur. He added that a chemical substance that was acidic in nature was thrown at him, however, by the grace of God he is safe. Paras claimed that the attack was carried out by anti-social elements and his clothes too had been burnt in the attack.
Paras was visiting his parliamentary constituency on August 23 for the first time since he had taken charge as the Union Minister. He drew parallels to the kind of welcome Ram Vilas Paswan was accorded when the latter had been the Hajipur MP. "Unable to bear the rousing reception being accorded to me, people from the rival camp conspired and initiated an attack against me," Paras said, adding that he escaped unscathed.

"I have also written a letter to the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, informing him about the incident. I will also meet the CM in person. Recently, not just me, but many other leaders have also been receiving threats over the phone," the LJP National President and MP said.
