Chamoli (Uttarakhand): Rescuers from multiple agencies like the ITBP, NDRF and Army continue their operation to penetrate deeper through tonnes of silt to reach out to workers trapped inside the Tapovan tunnel. The toll in the Uttarakhand flash floods has mounted to over 35 with over 170 missings. But a ray of hope of a family uniting with their son trapped inside the tunnel shines bright after they managed to listen to his voice over the phone.
Talking to ETV Bharat, sister of one of the trapped worker said that after being trapped in the tunnel for 5 days, they heard a hello from the other side.
Jitendra Dhanai, a resident of Tehri Garhwal, was working at the power plant at Tapovan since 2017.
