Osmanabad (Maharashtra): Talks are rife in Osmanabad in Maharashtra about a golden stone falling from the sky. The stone is said to be a meteor in yellow colour and it had fallen on an agriculture farm on Friday.
On Friday morning, a farmer named Prabhu Nivruti Mali was working in his field around 6.30 am. He heard a gushing sound of the wind and all of a sudden something fell from the sky seven to eight feet away from him.
He alerted Tahsildar Narsingh Jadhav. The officials rushed to the farm and recovered the stone. The shiny yellow stone weighed 2.38 kilograms with dimensions of 7 inches length and 6 inches width.
After the initial inspection at the tahsil office, the officials sent the stone to the Geological Survey of India. It could be a meteor. And, the thickness of the stone is more than 3.5 inches, geological survey officials said. Further research is underway at their office.
