Bikaner: As many as 11 people were killed and seven injured in a freak road mishap near Shree Balaji village on the Bikaner-Jodhpur highway in Rajasthan's Nagaur on Tuesday. The accident reportedly took place as a cruiser collided head-on into a truck. Police reached the spot on being informed about the unfortunate incident.
The impact was such that seven people were critically injured and they have been immediately rushed to a hospital in Bikaner's Nokha for medical treatment.
According to preliminary information, all passengers travelling in the cruiser were residents of Sajjankhedav Daulatpur in Madhya Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "The horrific road accident in Nagaur, Rajasthan is very sad. I express my condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives in this accident. Also, I wish the injured a speedy recovery." Prime Minister also approved an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the accident and the injured would be given Rs 50,000.
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed shock over the accident saying, "I and all the citizens of Madhya Pradesh are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and the government will bear the entire cost of the treatment of the injured."
