Thrissur: A 30-year-old woman was reportedly strangled to death by her husband at Mala, in Thrissur district of Kerala. Rahmath, daughter of Subair from Pindani was allegedly killed by her husband after a quarrel between the couple on Wednesday.
Puthumana Shamsad, 40 years, hailing from Paravur Vadakkekara and residing in a rented house near Pindani was arrested by the police in connection with the case.
Following the incident, Shamshad left his two children, aged nine and two respectively, at his house in Paravur on Thursday morning and left for his friend’s house.
Shamshad’s mother found it suspicious that he had only brought his children and not Rahmath. His mother later informed her neighbours who found Rahmath's body inside the rented house at Pindani.
In the preliminary investigation, it was found that the woman was killed by her husband. The police picked Shamshad from a house in Vadakkekkara and recorded his arrest on Friday. According to the police, a family dispute between the couple culminated in Rahmath's murder.
