Mayurbhanj (Odisha): An elderly woman was allegedly beaten to death by her two sons in Satabhaya village under Bangiriposhi police limits in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased was identified as Tulsi Singh of the same village. The accused sons who beat her to death are Rabi and Raj Kishore.
According to sources, the incident took place on Thursday evening when the accused duo returned home in an inebriated condition and soon an argument ensued between Tulsi and her two sons.
The situation took an ugly turn after the youths started beating Tulsi mercilessly with a wooden stick, injuring her critically.
Following this, Tulsi growled in pain throughout the night. After everyone woke up in the morning, Tulasi had already succumbed, sources said.
On being informed, Bangiriposhi police reached the spot and detained the duo for questioning. A probe into the case is underway while the body was seized and sent for post-mortem, sources said.
