New Delhi: India on Saturday strongly condemned the terror attack at the Shah-e-Cherag shrine in Shiraz, Iran, while urging the countries of the world to unite and combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said "We extend our deep condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Iran". This heinous attack is another reminder that terrorism continues to pose one of the biggest and most critical threats to international peace and security and the need of the hour is for countries of the world to unite and combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, the statement read.

Earlier this week, at least 15 people have been killed and 40 others injured in an attack on a Shia religious shrine in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz. According to reports, the attack, which took place at the Shah Cheragh Shrine, was carried out by three armed men who entered the shrine. Protesters have gathered in cities around the world in recent days in a show of solidarity with women in Iran.
The protests and violence erupted in Iran since the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who had been detained by the country's morality police.
