Ankara: At least 15 people were killed and 15 injured on Thursday when a minibus carrying immigrants overturned in Van province.
Governor of Van province Mehmet Emin Bilmez said, there were women and children among the dead.
Bilmez added that the nationalities of the victims were not known yet, they were believed to be from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Media reported that the driver lost his control on the steering wheel and vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch.
TV images showed the damaged minibus in a field where several medical workers were taking the injured to the hospital in Ozalp close to the Iranian border.
