Hadat: Five escaped prisoners were killed in a traffic accident after breaking out from Baabda prison near Lebanon's capital Beirut on Saturday.
The prisoners were killed when their car crashed into a tree near the Constitutional Council in the Hadat area.
More than 60 inmates broke out of Baabda prison, locking some guards in a cell before fleeing.
Security forces beefed up checkpoints in the area surrounding Baabda's Justice Palace and were searching for the escapees.
Ten prisoners were recaptured after the huge manhunt coordinated between Lebanese security forces.
