Rome: Two Indian citizens were arrested in Rome on Friday for allegedly possessing some 50,000 poppy bulbs that were ready to be transformed into over 7,000 doses of opium.

They were arrested at Tiburtina bus station in the capital after arriving on a bus from eastern Europe, said the Italian Financial Police.
