Rovaniemi: As time is drawing close people across the world are busy are devoting their time for 'Christmas', which is considered as the most cherished occasion during the winter season. Different organisers along with their creative ideas allow the people to enjoy the eve with their family members.
Similarly, a Finnish VR studio has created a virtual reality of the Lapland village.
It's the latest example of VR tourism, which developers claim could one day be a realistic substitute for real, physical travel without the environmental impact.
According to the local tourist board, Visit Rovaniemi, over half a million people visit the Christmas-themed destination every year to meet Santa, play in the snow and get in the festive spirit.

The work of Finnish VR studio Zoan, claims that virtual tourism offers a unique opportunity to experience new destinations, without the added environmental impact of long-haul flights, etc.
They are creating a virtual world by adding some ingredients from past, present and future. There are also some parts of fantasy where a person can go and experience different things. This is also a good substitute for travel.
People who came to visit this place were able to cross the Arctic Circle into Santa Claus village and meet the big guy himself in his presence filled office through the headset.
Of course, VR can't currently recreate the biting chill of arctic winds or the smells of burning fires and reindeer fur, but in the future, it may do.
Now, there may be no need to pull on those ski clothes and snow boots a new VR experience whisks headset wearers on a virtual visit to snow-covered Lapland and Santa's grotto.
