City of Rome unveils scooter sharing project

Mayor Virginia Raggi stood in front of the iconic Trevi Fountain and announced a new agreement with the company Helbiz for 1,000 electric scooters to be available in the city of Rome. Life in Rome is slowly getting back to normal after its citizens spent months in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rome: A fleet of electric scooters is one of the ways in which the city of Rome has been looking for new forms of transportation during the coronavirus pandemic which will allow its citizens to get around safely without having to crowd onto buses or the metropolitan.

On Thursday Mayor Virginia Raggi stood in front of the iconic Trevi Fountain and announced a new agreement with the company Helbiz for 1,000 electric scooters to be available in the city of Rome.

Life in Rome is slowly getting back to normal after its citizens spent months in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past few weeks stores, museums, coffee bars, restaurants, and malls have opened their doors. Now the public can get there on a scooter.

Italy went into lockdown on March 11 as the virus spread throughout the country.

So far more than 33,000 people in Italy have died as a result of the virus and over 2,31,000 have been infected according to the official count.
