Budapest: As many as seven tourists from South Korea were killed and around 19 others went missing after a sightseeing boat capsized in Danube River here on Wednesday evening (local time).
According to sources, the ill-fated boat with 34 people on board with two crew members sank after a collision with another vessel.
Being informed Budapest police, disaster management and rescue service personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operations.
The Mermaid, a ship from Panorama Deck's tourist fleet operating on the Danube since 2003, sunk shortly before 10 p.m. (local time) Wednesday, CNN reported quoting Panorama Deck spokesman Mihaly Toth.

Meanwhile, South Korean President Moon Jae-in called for every possible means, in cooperation with the local authorities of Hungary, to rescue the South Korean tourists.
The President's Office on Thursday said that the Seoul has plans to dispatch a team of officials to Hungary as well.
