Hyderabad: Pakistan has informed the global terror financing watchdog -- Financial Action Task Force (FATF)-- that UN-designated terrorist and Jaish-e-Mohammed's chief Masood Azhar has gone missing with his family, media reports said on Sunday.
The Paris-based terror watchdog will this week evaluate whether Pakistan has taken sufficient steps and implemented its plan of action to fight the global menace.

The JeM, headed by the 50-year-old Azhar, carried out many terror strikes in India and was involved in the attack on Parliament, the Pathankot air force base, army camps in Jammu and Uri, and attack on CRPF in Pulwama which claimed the lives of 40 personnel.

Pakistan will be submitting a report on action regarding the implementation of the watchdog's plan of action during the Paris meeting. More than 800 representatives from 205 countries and jurisdictions around the world including the IMF, UN, World Bank, and other organisations, will take part in the meeting.
The FATF in 2018 placed Pakistan on the grey list and the watchdog has already granted Islamabad an extension till February 2020 during a meeting in October last year.
The body warned that Islamabad would be put on the blacklist if it did not comply with the remaining 22 out of 27 points related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing.
Last year, the UN had designated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist after China lifted its hold on a proposal to blacklist him under the Security Council's Sanctions Committee. It is considered as a huge diplomatic win for India.
