Hyderabad: More than 50 people are believed to be killed after a jade mine collapsed in Hpakant area in Kachin state late on Monday night.
So far three bodies have been retrieved from the debris, Reuters reported quoting Tin Soe, a lawmaker.
According to media reports, 54 workers of two mining companies – Shwe Nagar Koe Kaung and Myanmar Thura – 40 machines were trapped under the debris after the mine collapsed.
Myanmar ministry of information has also confirmed about the missing of 54 workers on its Facebook page.

Landslides and mine collapses are common in Hpakant area.
