Beijing: China's foreign ministry urged the US and North Korea to "get along with each other" following reports that Pyongyang had test-fired a new type of "tactical guided weapon", its first such test in nearly half a year.
"The process of political settlement on the peninsula is currently at a critical stage," Lu Kang, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters at a regular news conference in Beijing.

Lu said the two sides must work together to continue to alleviate tension and to move forward with the process of denuclearisation of the peninsula.
The foreign ministry spokesman also praised Germany and Belgium for signalling that it may accept Huawei gear in their telecom networks.
He said that "more and more countries have shown a fair attitude toward Chinese technology companies' participation in 5G construction."
The head of Germany's telecom regulator told a media house earlier this week that no suppliers, including Huawei, should be specifically excluded, while a Belgium cybersecurity agency said they found no evidence Huawei gear could be used for espionage.

During his regular address Lu also criticised the Trump administration's decision to intensify its crackdown on Cuba, rolling back Obama administration policy and announcing new restrictions and sanctions.
"The US embargo against Cuba has brought enormous damage to Cuba's economic and social development and people's lives," Lu said.
"We call on the US to completely lift the embargo against Cuba as soon as possible in accordance with the purposes of the UN Charter and the basic norms of international law."
The US measures were announced against Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela on Wednesday but they seem likely to hit hardest in Cuba, which is at a moment of severe economic weakness.
