Armenia PM's wife starts combat training to defend Karabakh border

In a post shared on Facebook, Anna Hakobyan, Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife announced that a 13-member women’s squad, including herself, will soon begin military training exercises before being deployed in the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Hyderabad: Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan has joined a 13-member female squad to learn combat training to defend the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Hakobyan took to her official Facebook page on Monday and announced that a 13-strong female squad, including herself will soon join the Armenian forces fighting against Azerbaijan in the highly-contested Nagorno-Karabakh region.

"A squad of 13 women, including myself, will start military training from October 27. We'll leave for defending the borders of our homeland in several days," Hakobyan's Facebook post read.

"It’s time for us to rush to the military front and show the world what Armenian are capable of doing to protect their homeland," she wrote in her Facebook post.

The fight between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region has been going on for the past month since it had started on September 27 following skirmishes that began in July this year.
