San Nicolas de los Ranchos: The Popocatepetl volcano in central Mexico spewed water vapour, gas, and ashes Monday night into Tuesday morning, the country's disaster prevention agency (CENAPRED) reported.
The agency's systems also recorded three moderate eruptions, the first one late on Monday, followed by two others in the early hours of Tuesday.
The report added there was no record of ash fall in localities near the volcano, but that emission of water vapour and gas with slight amounts of ash with a west-northwest direction continued.
The agency warned people not to approach the volcano, especially the crater, because of the danger of falling ballistic fragments.
