Amecameca: Nature can be beautiful and frightful at the same time. A volcanic eruption shows the might of nature. Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano erupted with jets of smoke and ashes on Tuesday.
Local webcams captured the moments of the eruption as the volcano was found spewing heavy smoke into the air. Black and white footage of Popocatepetl spitting fire was released by Webcams De Mexico.
According to CENAPRED (the Mexico Disaster Prevention Centre), 155 exhalations were identified during the last 24 hours.
Popocatepetl is an active volcano around 70 kilometers from the Mexico city in the states of Puebla and Morelos in Mexico. It is located in the Eastern part of the Trans Mexican Volcanic belt. It is also the second highest peak in Mexico with a height of 5,426 meters. The highest in Mexico is Citlaltepetl at 5636 meters.
